Welcome to Newton High School Career & Technical Education
The Newton High School Career & Technical Education department offers 16 career pathways to help prepare you to become college and career ready for the future. There are many opportunities for you to obtain college credit, shadow a mentor in a career field and earn industry certification. The goal is to prepare you for your future as you attend CTE courses at Newton High School.
From February 15th to March 1st, the HOSA Club will be conducting a Pennies for Patients service project. As in year's past, we will have a competition between NHS Seminar classes with the "winning" class receiving treats as a reward. Please consider participating by sending a donation with any NHS student or contacting Mr. Mick directly. Money raised goes to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society which helps combat blood cancers.
It's National FFA Week and our FFA students are ready to celebrate. Here are the daily themes for the week:
Tuesday: Blue and Yellow
Thursday: Farmer Day
Friday: Denim Day
The Newton High School Career and Technical Education department will host the 2nd annual Building Bridges event on Tuesday, February 21 from 6 - 8:00 PM. The event is designed to make connections between educators, parents, students and business and industry leaders in and around Harvey County. The evening will start at 6:00 with appetizers prepared by our Culinary Arts students and a time of networking. We will then move to the auditorium for student celebrations of WorkKeys certificates and Career Success awards. Break-out sessions lead by our CTE staff begin at 7:00 PM with conversations centered around a specific group of questions.
All business and industry leaders are encouraged to attend and be part of these important conversations to build bridges in our community. Please RSVP to Melinda Rangel at email@example.com by February 14.
