Legos Camp will have a new location this summer! It will be held at Sunset Elementary, 619 Boyd Street. The camp will be July 9 - 13 from 8:00 am - 11:00 am. Check out the flyer and registration form for all the details.

It’s summer, and that means we will start our summer breakfast and lunch program again. The program runs from June 4 to July 20 (it will be closed on July 4). Meals are free to children 18 years and younger. Adults may eat breakfast or lunch for a small fee. Here are the locations and times for the program:

Lunch - 11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m.

Students in the Welding Technology program have a new piece of equipment to help them complete their program. A new welding camera has been installed that will record a student welding and allow for playback. The playback helps students see where they need to improve and correct welding techniques.

Club pictures for the yearbook will be Friday, November 10. . No passes will be given, no intercom announcements will be made. Staff members, seminar teachers, and students all have access to view the club day schedule in advance. Students will be responsible for getting to Willis Gym to take their club photo.

YE Market day is back! This Thursday, November 9th, YE students will be selling delicious food items during all 3 lunches! Bring your cash and enjoy the following:  Beef Jerky (Spicy and Regular) and soda (Mountain Dew, Dr. Pepper), Guacamole and salsa (chips included), Pancakes, Chicken Nuggets(sauce available), edible cookie dough, Quinn’s bread, Bierocks, Japanese Rice balls, Burritos and Jarritos, Authentic Enchiladas, Cinnamon Rolls(Raspberry, Normal), Supreme puppy chow with 3 flavors including regular, Cookies n’ Crème and Cupcake, Chicken Alfredo and Mozzarella Sticks, Cheese Fries, Crispitos, Mac and Cheese, Cake Balls, and Oreo Balls. Representatives from WSU met with students in the Engineering classes to explain a new college credit option for high school students. Students enrolled in Intro to Engineering and Engineering Design and Development can earn college credit toward an engineering degree at Wichita State. For more information about this great new partnership, contact Mr. Brian Rickard, engineering instructor.

Mike McConnell, NHS welding instructor, was honored as the Kansas CTE Teacher of the Year at the Kansas Career and Technical Education Association Conference. The award was presented at the state conference held in Manhattan in July. Congratulations, Mr. McConnell!
